The worst kind of famine

“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine through the land – not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.” – Amos 8:11

We should be so thankful, God has not given up on us, but often we starve ourselves…by not eating, not paying attention to the word of God.

Are you making time for the scripture so God can speak to you?

What are your priorities when it comes to spiritual things?

Consistent spiritual habits built into our days and weeks will bring their reward.

God is not just saving individuals and preparing them for heaven; rather, He is creating a people among whom He can live and who in their life together will reproduce God’s life and character. – Gordon Fee

#343 the word of God is alive and active

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
