“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10 ESV)
Look at how vividly Jesus speaks about the life he wants us to have and the life he gives. An abundant possession, a flourishing experience, the fullness of life found in a relationship with Him. A vibrant and overflowing life is the kind of life we see when the plants are flourishing under the right conditions.
“They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God.” (Psalm 92:13 ESV)
Rooted in God’s presence and love; Jesus’ promises are full of spiritual growth, maturity, and peace. When we follow — our lives take on a deeper meaning. Not just for ourselves but for God’s glory. The picture of life is not only agricultural but also familial. In the house of the Lord, we find a home to be strong and healthy. To flourish means to grow vigorously. In God’s house, we receive the abundant life that He promises. The image of flourishing in His courts reminds us, of His presence and His Word.
Reflection: Where is God inviting you to experience more abundant growth? How can you deepen your roots in God’s presence? Journaling: Think of a time when you experienced God’s abundant life in a new way. What did flourishing look like then? Prayer: Lord, thank You for the abundant life You offer through Jesus. To more deeply experience the fullness of Your love and purpose, Plant me in Your presence, and care. Amen.
