Time, planning, to-do lists, goals, finance, objectives – it’s all just math. How we see them, and our attitude toward “the math” is all an opportunity to accept reality and deal with it. It’s a stewardship, a responsibility over time.
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:15-16 ESV)
Paul was concerned about the condition of his culture. He could have been talking about our times. Are you in a hurry? If you take time to make plans, vision, clarity, and confidence will result. Someone once said, “Preparation brings peace.
To be wise stewards of our time, and pass the distractions and challenges ahead will require preparation. As you plan, consider how you are using your time to build relationships, grow spiritually, and serve others.
“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9 ESV)
Practice: Take time to evaluate your schedule. And take just a little more time to prioritize. Can you take time for intentional preparation, prayer, or a new project? Is there someone you need to reach out to today? Journal: Write how you will make the best use of your time, and your purposes, and brainstorm steps you can take toward your goals. Maybe you can take just one little move.
