I use two apps for to do list items, one for repeating practices, the other for one time items. Both apps are on the homepage of my iPhone. The “one time items” app is called, Todoist. Years ago I heard Michael Hyatt say he had been playing with it for a while and really appreciated it’s features. I thought to myself, “I have that app.” And I picked it up again. It has all of the features I need, but the other app I use is called, Productive, and it keeps track of my stats, streaks, how many items per day, week, month. So I actually use it for my daily, repeatable items because, it challenges me to keep up the consistency. Like Garmin, (my watch brand) says, “Beat Yesterday.” Today, I was thinking about 8 Moves, the curriculum I’m working on for the doctoral program. Asking myself, what is the goal of these moves? I think it’s focus. A certain kind of focus, one rooted in the way things are; reality. How were we created? What does our environment have to do with it? What is the next right thing, based on those realities, that I should be doing? What repeatable practices, through the week would best keep me aligned with the realities of life? 8 Moves, are the contexts, or containers, of reality that could become checkpoints on the journey we have all found ourselves on. So, here are the eight relationships covered in 8 Moves. How do you relate to these eight issues: Truth, Choice, Place, Time, Life, Work, Rest, and Rebirth. Stay tuned for more conversation around these 8 Moves. Blessings…
