Well, we’re wrapping up 2023. It’s been a year of opportunities and challenges, sorrows and joy. I pray the Lord has given you plenty to celebrate as we ring in the new year. I know your inbox is full of ministries and non-profits appealing for donations at the end of the year. I’m confident that there are many worthy causes. I wonder if I can show you how your gift to our ministry is a little different. Because of your generosity foster children in South Africa have a place to call home. Young people in Ireland have a safe place to talk about the struggles of life and faith. A church in Sherman Oaks has become an independent expression of faith, outside church walls and into the neighborhood. Alternative online expressions of spirituality are growing as we explore how creation encourages us to look into the deeper realities of life.
The broad array of ministry opportunities spanning three continents and potentially even more by our new online features show us that faithfulness has many expressions.
The new spirituality curriculum, 8 moves, in development highlights the diversity of ideas that inform our spirituality. Light and water are a picture of the wisdom and decisiveness of God and people; land and time are a reminder to build our lives on things that matter for eternity; life and work are a constant challenge to add value and love to our communities; rest and rebirth consistently show us that the soul is the core of our being, destined for eternity with God.
I hope you can see, or imagine the potential and significance of all these ministries of New Church Whittier: church planting, missionary work, and spiritual training. With all your commitment to, and all you do, please consider an end-of-the-year gift by clicking HERE and thank you in advance for your generous contribution to the work of Jesus Christ.
