“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”
Colossians 3:13
How do you respond when life gets hard, or people disappoint you? things aren’t going your way, or you get flat-out angry with the church, what do you do, where do you go, how do you react? Our deep primeval reaction is fight or flight. We’re all tempted to throw in the towel. The goal of our practice is maturity. Maturity will help you to grow. It will give you endurance and stability, resulting from our training. The word in Hebrew cHesed, is sometimes, rendered loving-kindness. That kindness doesn’t run when it’s angry and doesn’t fight when it’s hurt. Can you commit today to the practice of stability? Stability that says, even in the worst of times, I’m committed to my faith community, the Church?
You yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
